A confidential document from the Qatari embassy in Washington revealed on Monday that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed have supported some of the leading figures in AQAP.
The document, sent to Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman al-Thani on Oct. 26, 2016, showed bin Salman’s role in supporting terrorism.
According to the document, the US Deputy Treasury Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Information stated that Saudi Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed had permanent contact with Yemenis Ali Abker Al Hassan and Abdullah Faysal Al Ahdal, For their close ties to al-Qaida.
The document also revealed detailed information on the activities of Abdullah bin Faisal al-Ahdal and Ali Abker al-Hassan to support al-Qaeda and Da’ad organizations, and the direct funding provided by the head of Saudi intelligence, Khalid bin Ali bin al-Humaidan, to Ali Abkar, to buy unknown equipment and deliver it to Dahesh.
The US Deputy Secretary of State expressed concern that Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman was working with al-Qaeda and other extremist groups without coordination with the Americans. The deputy minister expressed US dissatisfaction with the expansion and expansion of al-Qaeda in Yemen and neighboring countries.
