At least 6 billion U.S dollars humanitarian aid support for Iraq and the Middle East confirmed by Japan. The Office of the Iraqi Speaker of Parliament issued a press statement that the Speaker of Iraqi Parliament Salim Al-Jubouri welcomed the Japanese ambassador in Iraq during a meeting.
They discussed to find more positive ways in order to strengthen the bilateral relationship between both countries, specifically in the financial and economic point of view. The statement further indicated that the Japanese ambassador stressed that Japanese government has decided to launch a new package of humanitarian aid and it is estimated at more than 6 billion U.S dollars for the Middle East and Iraq.
The Japanese ambassador confirmed that most part of the aid has been dedicated to support Iraq in order to help Iraqi displaced people and economic development in the country. The statement further pointed out that both sides also discussed the latest cooperation and preparation in the summit of G-seven major industrialized countries. Point to be noted that Tokyo has hosted the G-7 summit 2016 as planned in Shima city of Japan. The Japanese ambassador has confirmed the chairman of Iraqi House of Representatives regarding the responsibility of Japan to cooperate in getting support from the international community for Iraq due to the current critical economic, financial and security challenges.
