The Iraqi Finance Ministry issued a statement yesterday that Iraq would get more than 1 billion and 200 million U.S dollars loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
They confirmed that financial budget 2016 would be able to fulfill requirements of Iraqi citizens. The Iraqi Finance Minister Hoshyar Zebari issued a statement in a joint news conference with Akil Turaihi the chairman and governor of Karbala province. He said that Iraq is not bankrupt and not impoverished but it need perfect collaboration and better utilization of induction of Iraqi funds. He also pointed out that the Council of Ministers arranged a session last Tuesday to recheck and finalize the federal budget 2016. It has been forwarded to the Iraqi Parliament for further discussion and approval for the budget 2016.
The Iraqi Finance Minister Hoshyar Zebari further added that the budget 2016 is being considered more practical and realistic and we believe that it will meet most of the major requirements in the country such as health services, ration card and agreements with oil companies. He stressed that Iraqi government is much focused on its commitments to fulfill the financial requirements of the Iraqi people. He added that we don’t need much from the International Monetary Fund regarding financial loans but the IMF has a program providing assistance for Iraq in the financial management and for betterment in the economy. It allows us to get soft loans from some international organizations. He added that Iraq would get more than 1 billion and 200 million U.S dollars from the International Monetary Fund as a soft loan.
