The Iraqi Finance Minister Hoshyar Zebari issued a statement on Friday that Iraq has planned to sell international bonds in the fourth quarter of 2016
and it is estimated at two billion U.S dollars, but after starting the international aid for its execution. Iraqi Finance Minister said in a press interview that Iraq is the member of Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and we are expecting to get more than 600 million U.S dollars from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the month of September 2016.
He added that this amount would be the initial amount in providing more than 5.4 billion U.S dollars from the International Monetary Fund for the coming three years. Zebari added that it would be according to the agreement took place last month between Iraqi government and the International Monetary Fund. He further added that Iraq is expecting to sell its international bonds in the last quarter of this year worth more than two billion U.S dollars, but it depends on the receiving the international aid for its implementation. He stressed that it would also support in reducing the borrowing cost of the state.
