The Iraqi judiciary issued an arrest warrant against Hamdiya Dry, the Director of the Commercial Bank and imposed charges regarding the financial corruption files.
A member in the House of Representatives Niazi Ihsanoglu discussed the decision framework in a press statement and said that a number of news are indicating about the issuance of arrest warrant by the Iraqi judiciary against the Director of Iraqi Trade Bank ‘Hamdiya dry’. He added that the issuance of arrest warrant by the Iraqi judiciary was took place due to backdrop of much needed to the judiciary. The State of Law coalition headed by the former Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki, also stressed that a number of our deputies in the House of Representatives referred the files regarding the Director of Iraqi Commercial Bank Hamdiya dry for the integrity and investigation of the court.
Ibtisam Hilali, MP for the coalition said that these files were related to corruption, about money laundering and misuse of the national funds, and some most important national issues. It is also said that legal result of the missing files generated the decision of issuance of an arrest warrant against the Director of the Commercial Bank. The Iraqi Council of Representatives and the Integrity Commission also said earlier about the formation of a powerful committee. They will get reasons from the Director of the Iraqi Commercial Bank for not handling the corruption files regarding smuggling and the money laundering elements who transferred illegally millions of U.S dollars to other countries.
