Senior Iraqi Officials will be forced to submit their annual financial statements

The Economic advisor to the Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Saleh said in a press interview that Iraqi government is showing its seriousness in order to implement the law in collaboration with the Iraqi Integrity Commission.

He also pointed out that this step has been considered a part of his dedicated campaign in order to fight against corruption and the announcement of financial assets of senior Iraqi officials. He further explained that Iraqi government will made it essential that all Iraqi government officials should submit their annual statements and the information to be visible on their website to show integrity, otherwise they should face the legal accountability.

Saleh pointed out in a press interview that Iraqi government is taking some essential steps in collaboration with the Iraqi Public Integrity Commission. He indicated that some major steps have been taken in order to implement the law. He said that Iraqi Prime Minister has started the campaign against corruption and the implementation of reforms packages as he announced earlier. He added that the annual financial statements of senior Iraqi government officials should be published on their official website. He stressed that senior Iraqi government officials should mention their property, money and entire wealth in their annual financial statement. If they found unable in providing correct information of their assets then the subject will be referred to legal and judicial accountability. He added that these are essential measures to ensure the biography of tax payers and the state officials.
