The Information Office of the Prime Minister said on Friday, that Iraq is based on the Constitution as a reference to determine the relationship between the federal government and the Kurdistan region, stressing that no party can determine his fate in isolation from others.
“Any decision concerning the future of Iraq must take into account the constitutional provisions, it is an Iraqi decision and does not concern any party,” said Saad al-Hadithi, a spokesman for the office in a statement received by Iraqi Reporter.
“We are based on the constitution as a legal and political reference to determine the relationship between the federal government and the Kurdistan region,” he said. “All Iraqis must have their opinion and stake about the future of their homeland. No one is having right of making any decision about its future constitution without the consideration of all Iraqi inhabitants. I f any party will do so , they will be accountable for all of their acts.
The Kurdish parties in the Kurdistan region of Iraq agreed on Wednesday to hold a referendum on the fate of the region on the twenty-fifth of September.
